Harris Vows to Protect Palestinians from Forced Displacement in the U.S.

Vice President Kamala Harris stated during a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi that the Biden administration will not allow the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank, the besiegement of Gaza, or the redrawing of Gaza's borders. Harris praised Sisi for brokering a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which resulted in the release of hostages and increased humanitarian aid to Gaza. She blamed Hamas for breaking the ceasefire and emphasized the need for a political solution and support from the international community to stabilize Gaza. Harris also called for Hamas to relinquish power for the sake of Israel's security, the well-being of the Palestinian people, and regional security.
