Historic Israeli Delegation Attends UNESCO Conference in Saudi Arabia

A delegation of Israeli officials, led by the head of Israel's Antiquities Authority, is currently in Saudi Arabia as observers to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting. This marks the first time Israeli officials have visited Saudi Arabia for an international conference. While Saudi Arabia and Israel do not have diplomatic relations, the White House has been pushing for normalization between the two countries. Israel recently decided not to push for visas for two ministers to enter Saudi Arabia, after pressure from the US. The visit comes after Saudi Arabia signed a "host country agreement" allowing all signatories, including Israel, to freely enter the country for the event.
