"India to Replace Military Personnel with Competent Technical Personnel in Maldives"

India has confirmed that it will replace its current personnel in the Maldives with "competent Indian technical personnel," following conflicting reports on aid allocation for the island nation. The Ministry of External Affairs clarified that the aid figure could be revised and emphasized India's commitment as an important development partner for the Maldives. The move comes after Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu's repeated calls for the withdrawal of Indian defence personnel, with India having around 80 personnel, including medical staff, operating aircraft in the country's maritime territory.
