Portugal has pledged €100 million to a Czech-led effort to deliver over 800,000 artillery shells to Ukraine, aiming to address the country's ammunition shortage as it continues to defend against Russian forces. European allies, including Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden, have also contributed funds to the ammunition program. Meanwhile, the U.S. aid package for Ukraine remains held up in Congress, and the EU is working to increase weapon production in Europe to reduce reliance on U.S.-made arms.
