Legal setback for Russia as Australian embassy standoff ends

Russia's attempt to build a new embassy near Australia's parliament has been dealt a blow as the country's high court ruled in favor of the government's effort to seize the land. Australia had blocked the construction due to concerns of potential espionage. Russia had launched an injunction to hold on to the land and sent a diplomat to squat there, but the court ruled that Russia must vacate the site until further legal arguments are presented. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese emphasized the need for Russia to comply with the court's ruling. Additionally, Australia announced a military assistance package for Ukraine, excluding certain requested vehicles.
