Malaysia Takes Stand Against Israeli Shipping in Solidarity with Palestinians

The ban is in response to Israel's conduct in its conflict with Hamas and is seen as a response to ongoing cruelty against the Palestinian people. Malaysia, a Muslim-majority country, has long championed Palestinian rights and causes and does not recognize Israel. The ban also includes Israeli-registered companies and ships, such as the global shipping company ZIM.
