Tensions rise between Russia and Poland over renaming of Kaliningrad.

A Polish government body has recommended using the traditional name Królewiec for Russia's exclave of Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea coast, angering the Kremlin. The area was known as Königsberg before World War Two and was part of East Prussia. After the war, it was placed under Soviet administration and renamed Kaliningrad. The Polish committee said the decision no longer to use an "imposed name" was partly a result of Russia invading Ukraine. Poland has also begun to fortify its border with the exclave following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
