Ukraine's EU Membership Talks Gain Momentum

The European Commission has recommended that the European Union (EU) open membership talks with Ukraine, bringing Kyiv closer to its strategic goal of EU integration. However, Ukraine must first meet certain conditions related to fighting corruption, adopting lobbying laws in line with EU standards, and strengthening national minority safeguards. This recommendation is significant for Ukraine's Western integration aspirations, especially as it continues to face a large-scale Russian invasion. The EU is also considering similar recommendations for Moldova and Georgia, while urging Bosnia and Herzegovina to achieve compliance with membership criteria. EU leaders are expected to make a decision on the recommendation in December.
