Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin strengthen ties with economic deal.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have signed an agreement to deepen their strategic partnership and bilateral ties, bringing them into a "new era" of cooperation. The two leaders called for "responsible dialogue" to resolve the Ukraine crisis, with Putin saying that economic cooperation between Moscow and Beijing was a "priority" for Russia. The agreement also pushed forward the planned Power of Siberia 2 pipeline, which would deliver 50 billion cubic metres of natural gas per year from Russia to China via Mongolia.
