Wagner Group Leader Reverses Withdrawal Threat in Bakhmut

The leader of Russia's private mercenary Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has reversed his announcement that his forces would pull out of Bakhmut, a frontline Ukrainian city that has been under assault for months. Prigozhin had accused Russia's military command of starving his forces of ammunition and rendering them unable to fight. However, he released a statement on Sunday saying the Defense Ministry had promised support to continue the fight. The Russian infighting comes as Ukraine says it is prepared to launch a long-awaited spring counteroffensive.
