Five pedestrians struck at Uptown Normal roundabout; two taken to Urbana hospital

Five pedestrians were struck by a pickup at Uptown Normal’s roundabout. Two of the injured were transported to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, with all five initially taken to Bloomington-Normal hospitals. The crash damaged the corner of the Children’s Discovery Museum, and the driver remained at the scene as police investigate. The roundabout was closed for about 5.5 hours.
