Indonesia and US Collaborate to Seize Iranian Tanker Involved in Illegal Oil Trade

Indonesia's coast guard has seized an Iranian-flagged supertanker, MT Arman 114, suspected of illegal oil transshipment. The vessel was carrying 272,569 metric tons of light crude oil valued at $304 million and was allegedly transferring the oil to another vessel without a permit. The Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) also accused MT Arman of manipulating its automatic identification system (AIS). The coast guard plans to strengthen maritime patrols to prevent such incidents in the future.
