Venezuelan's Endless Odyssey: Escaping Violence to the US

Victor Manuel Atencio, a Venezuelan, embarked on a two-month, 3,000-mile journey to the United States, fleeing the political turmoil and economic collapse under Nicolas Maduro's government. Facing dangers in the treacherous Darien jungle and enduring attacks and robberies along the way, Atencio finally reached the Texas border town of Eagle Pass. Despite the hardships, he found kindness from strangers who provided food and clothes. Atencio's goal is to join his cousins in Dallas and build a better life that offers hope to his family still in Venezuela.
