North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced that the country has built its first-ever military spy satellite and plans to launch it soon. Kim cited the need for an operational military reconnaissance satellite to effectively use its nuclear-capable missiles and to counter the "most hostile rhetoric and explicit action" by the United States and South Korea. Experts question whether North Korea has cameras sophisticated enough to use for spying from a satellite.
