Ukraine's counteroffensive uncovers outdated Russian tanks.

The Ukrainian army's 128th Mountain Brigade is testing Russian defenses near P'yatykhatky and has found pro-Russian separatists, Russian reservists, and old T-62 and T-54 tanks being used as short-range, mobile artillery. The 128th Brigade has not yet breached the defenses, but in 13 days of fighting, they have advanced a few miles south of their original positions. The balance of power seems to favor the Ukrainians, with the 44th Artillery Brigade providing fire support with American-made M-777s that can fire GPS-guided shells as far as 15 miles. The outcome of the artillery duel around P'yatykhatky will determine how far and how quickly the Ukrainian mountain brigade can advance.
