US to Train Ukrainian Forces on Abrams Tanks, Canada Provides Additional Military Aid

The US will begin training Ukrainian forces on American-made Abrams tanks in Germany, with up to 250 Ukrainian troops attending a 10-week course starting in mid to late May. The 31 tanks heading to Germany are training models not suitable for combat, and the training will be conducted as the US refurbishes another set of 31 Abrams M1A1 tanks to send to the battlefield, which are expected to arrive this fall.
