WWII Navajo Code Talker Celebrates 106th Birthday and Revolutionary Military Contributions.

John Kinsel Sr., a Navajo Code Talker, celebrated his 106th birthday earlier this year. During WWII, the Navajo Code Talkers created an impenetrable code based on the Navajo language, which enabled them to translate three lines of English in 20 seconds. Kinsel served on the battlefield in several locations and sustained an injury during a blast in Guam. The code talkers were instrumental in defeating the Japanese during the war by using their indigenous language to create an impenetrable mode of communication. Kinsel was honored with an American Spirit Award in 2022 on behalf of the National WWII Museum.
