Ukraine's Counteroffensive Persists Despite Harsh Weather, Says Spy Chief

Ukraine's Military Intelligence chief, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that the country's counteroffensive against Russian forces will continue despite the challenges posed by cold, wet weather. The counteroffensive, which has already retaken several villages, has been complicated by minefields and entrenched Russian forces. Budanov's comments indicate that Ukraine intends to maintain its push even as the weather worsens. Concerns have been raised about the sustainability of Western military aid as progress has been slower than expected. Russia currently has an estimated 420,000 servicemen inside Ukraine. The push in the Zaporizhzhia region aims to split Russia's occupying forces but is still far from achieving that goal. Budanov cited the large number of Russian drones and minefields as factors slowing Ukraine's progress. Russia claims that the Ukrainian counteroffensive has failed.
