Escalating Drone Attacks on US Troops in the Middle East Cause Concern

The Pentagon has announced that 46 American troops have been injured in drone attacks in the Middle East over the past month, more than double the number reported two weeks ago. While the injuries are said to be minor and the troops have returned to duty, the number could change as reports of traumatic brain injuries continue to come in. The US has increased its force posture in the region to deter future attacks, including deploying a nuclear submarine as a warning to Iran-backed Hezbollah and other actors. The Pentagon's goal is to prevent the conflict from widening beyond Israel.
