Decline in Attacks on US Troops in Middle East, Pentagon Reports

The Pentagon has reported a decrease in attacks on US troops deployed in Iraq and Syria since November 23. Previously, there were 73 attacks resulting in over 60 injuries, including traumatic brain injuries. The US military responded with strikes against facilities used by Iran-backed militias. Counter strikes have degraded the militias' ability to continue attacking US troops without escalating conflict in the Middle East. Additional troops have been positioned in the region to deter attacks on US troops and support Israel in its conflict with Hamas.
