Dam destruction causes chaos and devastation in southern Ukraine.

Tens of thousands of civilians are fleeing southern Ukraine as floodwaters are expected to crest after the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam, which both Ukraine and Russia accuse each other of deliberately destroying. The disaster will have grave and far-reaching consequences for thousands of people in southern Ukraine on both sides of the front line through the loss of homes, food, safe water, and livelihoods. Targeting dams in war is explicitly banned by the Geneva Conventions.
