Deadly Storm Ravages Southern Brazil, 8 Dead and 19 Missing.

A severe winter storm in southern Brazil has caused floods and landslides, killing eight people and leaving 19 others missing. The storm caused fatalities in seven cities, with one of the victims being a 4-month-old baby. Firefighters have performed 2,400 rescues across the 35 cities affected by the tropical storm. The storm was an extratropical cyclone, a type of weather system that most often occurs in middle and high latitudes rather than in the tropics.
