Michigan declares emergency as historic blizzard blankets the north
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency for seven northern Michigan counties after a March 15–16 winter storm dumped 2–4 feet of snow, bringing blizzard conditions, impassable roads, and power outages. The Michigan State Police EMHSD is coordinating relief from the State Emergency Operations Center, with residents urged to stay home and local governments able to seek disaster aid under state law.
