Dozens Rescued from Swiss Avalanches

Nine skiers were airlifted to hospitals with light to moderate injuries after a major avalanche near the summit of the Alphubel mountain in the Saas-Fee area of Switzerland. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene and all 16 people ski touring in the area were taken off the mountain. The other seven people were uninjured. The avalanche risk for Saturday was moderate in southern Wallis. Fifteen people have died in avalanches in Switzerland from 1 October 2022 to 31 March this year, while one person remains missing.
