Ice storm causes widespread power outages in Eastern Canada.

Over 1 million people in Quebec and Ontario are without power due to freezing rain and thunderstorms that caused trees and power lines to fall. The storm left 900,000 in Quebec and 100,000 in Ontario without power. Two deaths have been reported, and numerous downed trees have been reported in Montreal. The mixture of precipitation and wind is causing the outages by weighing down vegetation and causing branches and trees to fall on power lines.
