Arab-Israeli Unity Grows Amidst Conflict and Insecurity

A recent poll conducted by the Israel Democracy Institute (IDI) found that the Gaza war has led to an increased sense of solidarity with Israel among its Arab minority, who often identify as Palestinian and have long complained of discrimination. 70% of Arab citizens polled said they feel part of the country, up from 48% in June, marking the highest finding for the sector in 20 years. However, only 27% of Arab respondents felt optimistic about Israel's future, compared to 72% of Jews. The poll also revealed that 80.5% of Jewish respondents and 59% of Arab respondents would choose to stay in Israel if given an alternative Western citizenship.
