Blinken's Ethiopia Diplomacy Balances Restoring Ties and Addressing War Crimes

Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Ethiopia to restore relations with the country while also addressing the atrocities committed during the two-year civil war. Blinken praised Ethiopia for making progress on implementing a peace deal that ended hostilities between the central government and Tigrayan rebels, but stopped short of restoring Ethiopia's access to a U.S. trade program suspended last year over war crimes.
