China's Weapon Sales to Russia Could Damage Relations with EU and NATO

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned Chinese leader Xi Jinping not to provide any military equipment to Russia, as it would harm the relationship between the EU and China. She also called on Beijing to use its influence to be clear in messaging with Moscow. Von der Leyen also discussed the issue of Taiwan with Xi, emphasizing the importance of stability in the Taiwan Strait and warning against any unilateral changes to the status quo. Xi, in reply, sent a stern warning over interference in Taiwan affairs.
