Controversy Surrounding Nakba Day Protests and Events.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, has warned member states against attending a “Nakba Day” event at the UN, which marks what Palestinians consider to be the “catastrophe” of Israel’s founding. Erdan called the event “despicable” and said that attending it would mean “adopting the Palestinian narrative calling the State of Israel a disaster while ignoring Palestinian hate, incitement, terror and refusal to accept the legitimacy of a Jewish state.” The US and UK have confirmed they will not attend, and Erdan calls on all member states to follow suit.
