Former ally warns of possible coup by Wagner army against Putin.

Former Federal Security Service officer, Igor Girkin, has said that Putin could be overthrown by his private military army, the Wagner Army, led by Yevgeny Prigozhin. Girkin warned that a coup attempt has been declared and the danger of a looming coup is clear. Prigozhin has recently criticised the Russian defence ministry and suggested that Russia's top leadership should be changed. Girkin has been critical of the impact of the invasion of Ukraine on Russia, saying that they are heading towards military defeat.
