Hiroshima Survivor Criticizes G7 Leaders' Stance on Nuclear Disarmament Amid Rising Arms Race.

Setsuko Thurlow, a survivor of the U.S. bombing of Hiroshima, criticized the G7 leaders for embracing war and rejecting nuclear disarmament. While in Hiroshima, President Biden announced $375 million more in military aid for Ukraine and pledged to begin training Ukrainian forces on flying U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets. Biden did not apologize for the U.S. bombing of Hiroshima, and Thurlow expressed disappointment that the leaders did not fully listen to the citizens' recommendations for nuclear disarmament. Thurlow also called for a peaceful ceasefire in the war in Ukraine.
