Hong Kong police have offered bounties for the arrest of five pro-democracy activists living overseas, expanding their crackdown under the national security law. The US and UK have condemned the move, viewing it as an attempt to restrict democracy. The activists, who fled Hong Kong anticipating harsh measures, are accused of engaging in activities endangering national security. This comes after the government rounded up 47 opposition activists in 2021 and conducted Hong Kong's largest-ever state security trial.
