International Allies Express Concern and Offer Mediation in Sudan Conflict

The US Department of State has urged the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Security Forces to immediately end hostilities without pre-condition, following dangerous fighting that threatens the security and safety of Sudanese civilians and undermines efforts to restore Sudan's democratic transition. The only way forward is to return to negotiations that support the Sudanese people's democratic aspirations. The US is in close touch with its embassy in Khartoum and has been communicating with American citizens in the region about safety measures and other precautions.
