Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida made a surprise visit to Ukraine and met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, highlighting Japan's support for the country in the face of Russia's ongoing invasion. Kishida arrived in Kyiv by rail from Poland, becoming the final Group of Seven leader to visit Ukraine since the invasion. Zelenskyy called Kishida "a truly powerful defender of the international order and a longtime friend" of Ukraine.
