Lula's China Visit: Trade, Peace, and Potential Controversy

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is visiting China to strengthen ties with the country's biggest trade partner and seek support for his push for peace in Ukraine. Brazil, China, and other nations are being asked to help mediate the war as part of Brazil's return to the world stage. China is Brazil's biggest export market, and the two countries are expected to sign at least 20 bilateral agreements during Lula's two-day stay. Lula's visit to China is also an attempt to reaffirm Brazil's role on the global stage following the term of his predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro.
