Massive Protests Erupt in Poland Against Conservative Government's Policies.

Hundreds of thousands of people marched in Warsaw and other cities across Poland to protest against the ruling Law and Justice party, which they accuse of eroding democratic norms and violating the constitution. The opposition party led the march, with former President Lech Walesa and former Prime Minister Donald Tusk in attendance. The government has been accused of reversing many of the achievements made since Poland emerged from communist rule in 1989, including a takeover of the judiciary and media, and a clampdown on abortion rights. The march was held on the 34th anniversary of Poland's first partly-free election, and is seen as a test for Tusk's Civic Platform party ahead of the general election in October.
