Putin's Economic and Patriotic Priorities in Ukraine and Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed in an interview that he did not order a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2014 because he wanted to resolve the situation peacefully. He also referenced the "Crimean Spring" and attempted to justify the annexation of Crimea with a referendum. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine continued until Putin ordered a full-scale invasion in 2022. Putin is now subject to an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court over allegations of transporting Ukrainian children and teenagers to Russia.
