Religious Liberty Nonprofit Criticizes Bill Banning Protests Near Drag Shows as "Deranged Parody of Public Law"

Liberty Coalition Canada, a nonprofit advocating for religious liberty, criticized a proposed law in Ontario that would criminalize protests and "offensive remarks" within a 100-meter area around drag shows and other LGBTQ events. The proposed law would make harassment, intimidation, and "offensive remarks" punishable by fines up to $25,000. Liberty Coalition Canada's founder, Michael Thiessen, claimed that the bill would silence all opposition and normalize the sexualization of children. The proposed legislation resembles the Safe and Inclusive Access Bylaw passed last month by the City Council of Calgary, Alberta.
