Romania recalls ambassador for racist monkey comparison.

Romania's ambassador to Kenya, Dragos Viorel Tigau, has been recalled after allegedly comparing a monkey with Africans during a meeting in Nairobi. The African diplomats in attendance condemned the "insulting, racist and degrading utterances". The Romanian foreign ministry apologised for the incident and said that racist behaviour or comments were "absolutely unacceptable". Tigau presented his apology, including in writing, and the ministry hopes that the incident will not affect the relationship with the countries of the African continent.
