Saudi Arabia seeks US nuclear aid amidst coalition efforts against terrorism.

Saudi Arabia's foreign minister has said that the kingdom would welcome US aid in building its civilian nuclear program, but "there are others that are bidding." The comments came after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with senior Saudi officials, including Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The US has been forced to recalibrate its decades-long alliance with Saudi Arabia as the oil-rich kingdom seeks to transform itself into a global player untethered from Washington. Blinken said expanding Israel's normalization with Arab countries remains an American "priority," but did not comment on the nuclear issue.
