Serbia and Kosovo reach historic agreement for normalization of relations.

The EU-brokered deal between Serbia and Kosovo, mediated by European officials, is based on a gentleman's agreement as the Serbian party did not sign the document. While oral agreements can be valid and binding, the lack of a signatory or guarantor has left citizens skeptical about the deal's success. Despite the optimism of EU negotiators, a normalization of relations between the two countries by the end of March seems unlikely, with a new deadline of the end of 2023 now being mentioned by American negotiator Gabriel Escobar.
