Taiwan's Foreign Minister Seeks European Support Amid China Tensions

Taiwan's Foreign Minister Joseph Wu met with the head of the upper house of the Czech parliament, Milos Vystrcil, as part of a European trip that has angered China. Wu was also due to speak at a security conference in Prague and meet informally with the head of the lower house of parliament. China claims Taiwan as its own territory and has urged Europe not to have any official exchanges with Taiwan or support "independence forces". The Czech Republic has been keen on improving ties with Taipei despite having no diplomatic relations with Taiwan.
