The Implications of the Saudi-Iran Deal for Yemen, the Middle East, and the US-China Rivalry.

Negotiations between Saudi officials and Houthi rebels in Yemen are rumoured to be bearing fruit, with some talk of a full Saudi withdrawal from the country being on the cards. However, the Yemeni government and other local actors on the Saudi-led coalition side, including the separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC), feel like they are on the outside looking in, with little influence. It will be necessary for all groups to be included in the next stage of negotiations, rather than simply being brought along to rubber stamp a pre-arranged agreement.
