US Vice President Kamala Harris visited her grandfather PV Gopalan's family home in Lusaka, Zambia, during her tour to the country. Gopalan was an Indian foreign service official who served as an advisor to Zambia's first president, Kenneth Kaunda, and was an expert on refugee resettlement. The US embassy in Lusaka, working with the Vice President's office, located the spot they believe Gopalan lived, which now belongs to a Zambian group of companies. Harris remembered her time in Zambia fondly and extended greetings from her family to everyone there.
