Zelensky stands firm against Arab nations' indifference to Russia invasion.

Ukrainian President Zelensky made a surprise visit to the Arab League summit in Saudi Arabia to rally support against Russia, while Syrian President Assad was welcomed back after a 12-year suspension. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed support for reducing the crisis between Russia and Ukraine and welcomed both leaders to the summit. Zelensky invoked the Arab world’s own troubled history of invasion and occupation, saying Ukraine “will never submit to any foreigners or colonizers. That’s why we fight.” Assad hopes the summit will mark the start of a “new stage of Arab solidarity to achieve peace, development, and flourishing in our region instead of war and destruction.”
