IDF to support police amid anticipated Al-Aqsa unrest.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has been ordered to bolster police forces in the Central District and West Bank amid a string of terror attacks and expected unrest at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The IDF will also extend a closure on West Bank and Gaza Strip crossings for Palestinians, preventing them from taking part in prayers at the mosque. The heightened state of alert comes after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered an immediate call-up of Border Police reserves officers, and police expect violence on Sunday. Tensions between Israel and the Palestinians have been high for the past year, with several deadly Palestinian terror attacks.
