Italian MP Makes History by Breastfeeding Baby in Parliament

A baby was breastfed in the Italian parliament for the first time ever by lawmaker Gilda Sportiello, triggering a round of applause from fellow members. In November last year, a parliamentary rules panel gave the go-ahead to women lawmakers to enter the chamber with their children and breastfeed them up to the age of one. The event was underlined by the acting lower-house speaker in traditionally male-dominated Italy.
