Migrants risk death crossing dangerous U.S. desert from Mexico

Migrants are increasingly crossing the US border through dangerous desert areas, with many becoming lost or injured. Non-profit organization Border Kindness is extending its services to desert areas around Yuma, Arizona, to assist lost or hurt migrants. The recent rise in unauthorized border crossings is due to the pandemic and its aftermath, with many Latin American nations closing their borders to immigrants. The number of migrants apprehended and expelled across the entire southern US border has skyrocketed, with more than 200,000 in November last year alone.
