Visitors flocked to Iowa's Freedom Rock on Memorial Day to pay their respects to fallen veterans. The 60-ton boulder has been painted with military-themed murals by artist Ray "Bubba" Sorensen for the past 25 years. Sorensen mixes the ashes of fallen veterans into his paint and every Memorial Day, he paints the ashes onto the rock. This year's mural honored Medal of Honor recipients. Sorensen says the effort is worth it because "they're remembering" and "that's what Memorial Day is all about."
