Nigerian Footballer Flees Sudan Fighting in Shorts

Nigerian footballer Charles Collins had to flee Sudan in just his shorts when fighting broke out in the country, leaving behind all his possessions, including $20,000 cash. He was among 396 Nigerians who escaped from Sudan in a dangerous journey lasting several days. Collins, who played for Khartoum side Haidob en Nahud, does not see himself going back to Sudan to continue his career. Many Nigerians were studying in Sudan, but after the conflict, they are being evacuated back to Nigeria.
